The Lisa Whitmore Memorial Shop with a Cop & Firefighter was founded in 2005 and seeks to give children living at Clare House, McKinnell House, and AWAIC shelter a day they will remember for a lifetime. The program is made possible by Anchorage Cops for Community, Anchorage Firefighters, Fred Meyer, and support from local businesses.
Each year, children and teens at these shelters are identified and paired with a first responder from participating agencies to buy gifts for themselves and their families. After they have finished shopping, kids have their gifts wrapped by volunteers from the community.
This event is by invitation only. If you are interested in supporting it through a financial donation, please click HERE. All donations are incredibly impactful and allow us to continue our meaningful work throughout the community.
