Louie G. Mizelle (1954-1989) had been an Anchorage police officer for five-and-a-half years when on June 5, 1989, he responded to a report of shots fired from an apartment complex in Mountain View. When he arrived a gunman fired on him, hitting him five times. Mizelle died the following day.
